Who is Jesus?
Jesus is He that was sent by our loving God.
“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16)
Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Living God, who created the heavens and the earth and everything that is in them.
“I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” (John 10:10)
These were the Words that Jesus spoke. He came to heal the broken hearted, to heal the sick, to free the capatives, He came to set us free.
All this God did because of His unconditional love. A love that has no limit.
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
Why Don’t We Experience an Abundant Life?
Today most people do not experience an abundant live because man is sinful and sin seperate us from God, with that seperation we cannot truly experience what God has in store for us.
Man was created to have fellowship with God to live and walk in Love, Joy and Peace but ecause of mans greed and his own selfish desires and his active rebellion and disobedience, man was seperated from God and all fellowship with God was lost and man became Sinful in nature.
“The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23)
So God sent His only Son Jesus that He may take our place and die for the sins we have commited that we may be spared instead.
“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)
Jesus made it clear that He is the only way to God
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me’” (John 14:6)
Only Jesus is wother to stand in the gap that once seperated us from God for Jesus paid the penalty for our sins that we so deserved to pay. Jesus hanged on a cross beaten and tortured for our sakes, He died and rose again on the third day. Jesus defeated Hell and the grave that we too may be free with Him.
So How Can We Be Set Free?
To be set free, we as individuals must come to the acceptance that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour. We must be ready to accept Jesus by faith and not of our own doing but wholly by His grace, that He died to take away our sins.
“By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9)
Receiving Jesus mean repenting, which means acknowledging that we are sinners and turning away from our sins and turning to God and in all this trusting Jesus Christ to come ino our lives an forgive us of our sins and make us whole to give us a new life, to be born again.
Being saved involves recognizing that Jesus Christ is on the throne and that we surrender ourself to His leading, His guidance and direction by faith and not walking in our own self interests that are directed by ourselves which we can never find satisfaction.
We all need Jesus and He wants us to know Him and have fellowship with Him.
How Can I Receive Jesus as My Personal Saviour?
By saying a simple prayer that is straight out of the heart. God is not impressed by the eloquence of our words but He is interested in the condition of our hearts and a prayer from the heart is heard by God.
To receive Jesus into your life, simply repent and confess Jesus as your Lord and saviour.
Sample Prayer of Salvation
“Lord Jesus, I am sinner and for that I thank you for dying for me on the cross, to take away my sins and forgive me. I open up my heart and receive you as my Lord and saviour. Come into my heart and make me the person you want me to be. You alone are Lord and there is no other. Thank you Jesus for your Grace,
Amen”
If this prayer ministers to you, I invite you to make the right decision now and say that prayer. say it out of your heart and watch what Jesus will do for you.
