If you’ve ever encountered a person with anger management problems then you would know how such a person can dampen the environment wherever they go. Its like they drag a dark spirit around with them that makes people not want to be within a certain radius of them. So as Christians, how should we then deal with anger from a Biblical perspective
Perhaps you have perceived or you entertain the notion that the entire Bible right from the book of Genesis in one way or another points to Jesus, the Christ. This starts right from the creation story in Genesis and continues on to the end of the book of Revelation. With this entire flood of information pointing at the Christ then how do we even start to understand who He is.
The church of Christ is not what it seems today. What with a lot of false preachers running the pulpits with a strong notion of self rather than the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of these false pastors and Bible teachers can be detected from the fruits they bear. Many are interested in glorifying themselves, or interested in self material and financial enrichment especially at the expense of the church members.
As we continue in this two part series of the Word of Faith nonsense. A testimony by Bob Scruggs, I want to remind us that it is by the Grace of God that we are saved and not of works (signs and wonders) that any man should boast. In part one of Word of Faith nonsense we saw what brushing shoulders with the false teachers can do and in what state of hopelessness you can be left in.
Bob Scruggs who’s been involved in the prisons ministry conducting Bible studies for quite a number of years has touched my heart over the past week or so. Bob has been kind enough to share his testimony and experiences with His life’s ministry and what God has done for Him with you all. He also touches on his encounters with the Word of Faith Movement teachers. It is really heart warming testimony presented in two parts.
It has been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish… all before making a human. He made and provided what we would need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. Seeing we are such slow learners, God left us a great clue
As prayer goes it ay not be easy to think as Jesus taught but as we think rightly or wrongly about prayer according to the conception we have in our minds of prayer. If we think of prayer as the breath in our lungs and the blood from our hearts, we think rightly. The blood flows ceaselessly, and breathing continues ceaselessly; we are not conscious of it, but it is always going on.
Many of us have heard about the story of the woman with the issue of blood, that she had suffered for twelve years. She badly needed healing and saw this one opportunity to be made whole. She reached out and received as she touched the hem of His garment and was instantly healed. Had the woman not have crawled towards Jesus, She probably would not receive her healing.
I found some interesting figures on promises… Out of 31,101 verses in the bible, there are 8,810 promises.7,487 from God to man.(about 85% of all bible promises). 991 instances of one person to another, 290 from God to man. Others made through angels most found in Luke, 9 3 are made by the devil, e.g. to give Jesus the kingdoms of the world. Two are made by an evil spirit, two by God the father to God the son
Waiting on God has never and can never be a waste of time. When God bids you to tarry it means he has sufficient grace for you. The more willing and patient you are for God to lead and direct you, the stronger you become and the further you go. Never be in a hurry simply because God has called you, when he calls you he says come wait on me.
Sometimes it is hard to maintain joy considering the cloud of uncertainties hovering over us. However God has great promises in store. “it shall be well with thee” as long as we walk in the fear of God. The only hindrance for us to walk in the promises of God is the faith to believe that it is sealed and done. Until we believe it and speak it, we may never get to live it.
There are three simple rules in life: 1. If you do not go after what you want, you will never have it; 2. If you don’t ask, the answer will always be no; 3. If you do not step forward, you’ll always be in the same place. When you are sure of what you want, other peoples decision to stop you actually arouses your thirst to go for it. They shouted even louder. Think about it when you are easily put of while you are thirsting for something.
Deception in the church may seem far fetched in this day and age, after all, aren’t there a multitude of mega preachers all over the world. Has there a time in history that the church has enjoyed the number of followers it has today? These might seem to have simple enough answers if taken from the surface. But that is not my intention to scratch the surface, mine is to dive under the surface and see what is really going on today as far as Christianity goes.
Everyone is in a race, but not all finish or win. But note that Christianity is not a competition. We all have different kinds of races, but staying focused onto the prize is what matters most. Unless you are not aiming at the prize then you keep getting tired. Focus, patience and persistence will keep you in the race will all your strength.
Here is a story that I found worth reading and would like to share. It is a nine part series on Kevin Kleint’s time working seven years for the Elijah List under Steve Shultz. Here Kevin talks about how his life deteriorated under the deception within this ministry. He covers his role as the webmaster, his encounter in Uganda, Todd Bentley and many more
